HEY! I’ve read a lot of reviews on PayMaya and most of them are super long, full of info and for a busy person like me (naks!), I don’t have much time to read all of those. So here, I created my review on using PayMaya. I promise to keep it simple and understandable for you!
Based on PayMaya’s website, the company is backed by two global leaders in the converging Internet platforms, digital financial services, mobile money and eCommerce spaces – Smart e-Money, Inc. and Rocket Internet. (gets mo ba? feeling ko hindi haha) In short, RELIABLE sila kasi isa ang SMART sa may-ari. Yun lang yon dude! 😉
FIRST THINGS FIRST, Download the app: PayMaya via GOOGLE PLAY or the APP STORE.
SO, WHAT ARE THE FEATURES OF THE CARD?
- SHOP (Online – Lazada, Zalora, Sephora, Amazon, etc.) or Offline – Malls and other establishments that accept VISA)
- SWIPE (#KaskasPaMore)
- RIDE (MRT & LRT)
Now that you know how POWERFUL the card can be, let’s now proceed to the steps on how you can get ONE!
WHAT’S THE EASIEST WAY TO GET THE CARD?
Online! Based on my personal experience, provided that you’re a busy person like me OR sadyang tamad ka lang and you can wait for 2-3 days, this is the best option for you!
Click this link to proceed to their online shop. If mabagal ang net mo dahil di ka pa bayad, just manually go to https://paymaya.com/shop/. The site looks like this:
Now you have a lot of choices to choose from! You can buy a SINGLE PayMaya Non-Beep Card for Php70.00 or a SINGLE PayMaya Beep-Card for Php100.00 (for those who use MRT or LRT regularly). They also have the BUNDLE package if all or most of your family members are declined nung nag-apply kayo ng Credit Card. (SAKLAP PRE! Actually, kaya din ako nag-PayMaya kasi na-decline ako hahaha!)
HOW CAN I PAY THE ORDER ONLINE EH WALA NGA AKO CREDIT CARD DIBA?
Bago ka mag-taray dyan, meron po silang C.O.D. (Cash On Delivery)! Just make sure you include your full shipping address.
HALA! EH DI BA MAY CHARGE YON?
Nope. Wala silang charge. Whatever the price there, that’s the only amount that you will give to the delivery guy. For instance, I bought the SINGLE Beep-Card worth Php100.00, when the card arrived, I only paid the EXACT AMOUNT! Plus I give tip na lang sa delivery guy kase galante ako.
DELIVERY:
The card was delivered fast! I placed the order online on January 28 (Thursday) around 11PM and I’ve received it February 1 (Monday) around 10AM. So if you will just consider the business days (Monday-Friday), it’s only 2-3 delivery days!

SO WHAT NOW?
WILL THEY SEND YOU A TEXT MESSAGE FOR EVERY UPDATE THAT YOU DO?
Yes, they will! After you activate it, when you change your password/ PIN and when you upgrade your card. IT’S ALL DOCUMENTED via text messages! COOL right?
WHAT IF I JUST WANT TO SHOP ONLINE, CAN I GET A VIRTUAL CARD?
Yes, you can! Just download the PayMaya App and follow the instructions there!
For iPhone users, this is what the PayMaya app looks like:
They also have an extra feature that allows you to load your mobile number with a DISCOUNT! Just tap the SHOP tab for you to access this. Now this is truly convenient! If you’re using a PREPAID plan, this is for you. You’ll save a lot of money overtime.
NOTES:
- The PAY BILLS tab is not yet activated. They’re working on it though.
- The SEND MONEY tab will only be activated once you UPGRADE for FREE!
WHAT’S THE EASIEST WAY TO UPGRADE MY PAYMAYA CARD?
Again, this is the easiest method that I did to upgrade my PayMaya card. But first, what are the perks of the upgrade? 1) You can transfer fund from your account to other PayMaya accounts, 2) Your wallet limit from 50K will be doubled, hence your new wallet limit is 100K per month and 3) You can withdraw money from any Bancnet ATMs locally or Visa ATMs abroad. If you need that, then upgrade!!!
Here’s how to upgrade the easiest way:
- OPEN the PayMaya App.
- For IOS: Tap “More”, then tap “Upgrade for FREE”.
- For Android: Open the drawer, then tap “Upgrade for FREE”.
- FILL OUT the fields and submit your application. Wait for your upgrade SMS receipt for your next steps.
- MESSAGE THEM ON FACEBOOK, PayMaya (or click here)! Yes, you don’t need to go to their Smart Jump Centers. Include your NAME and REFERENCE NUMBER (that you received via text). Inform them that you wanna UPGRADE via video call. And by the way, their customer service is EXCELLENT! They respond fast.
- WAIT for their response and one of their customer service associates will add you on FB (sa wakas may mag-aadd na rin sayo haha!). Accept the friend request (wag feeling celebrity).
- PREPARE a valid I.D. (go to their website or click here for the list of the I.D.s they accept).
- VIDEO CALL. Just present your valid I.D. while on the video call. (When the associate video called me around 10AM, I just woke up by then so wag nang mag-make up or magsuot ng formal wear, you don’t need that. Yung I.D. ang importante hindi ang pagiging vain mo!) Super polite, professional and courteous nung nag-interview sakin, Ms. Ysa Santos.
- DONE. They will send you an SMS that you are now UPGRADED!
It will only take a day or two for this process. SO EASY and CONVENIENT!
LAST QUESTION, HOW CAN I LOAD THE CARD?
For cards with BEEP (for MRT &LRT):
For Robinson’s, SM, and selected Smart Padala stores:
- Visit a PayMaya Load-Up center.
- Prepare your mobile number and a valid ID (no ID required if your account is upgraded).
- Provide the cash amount for load up.
- IMPORTANT: Wait for a confirmation of your load-up transaction. Do not leave the venue without receiving this.
*There is a 0.5% charge for consumers who make Smart Padala to PayMaya transactions.
For 7-eleven Cliqq kiosks:
- Visit a 7-Eleven store with a Cliqq Kiosk
- Tap “E-MONEY”, then “PayMaya Cash-In”.
- Enter your mobile number and the load-up amount.
- Get the receipt and pay at the counter.
- IMPORTANT: Wait for a confirmation of your load-up transaction. Do not leave the venue without receiving this.
For BDO online/mobile banking:
- Log in to your BDO online/mobile account.
- Select “Financial Services” > “Bills Payment” > “Pay Bills”
- For “Pay this Company/Biller”: choose PAYMAYA
- For the Subscriber Number, enter the recipient’s mobile number* with the format: 639XXXXXXXXX.
- For the Subscriber Name, enter the recipient’s name. Click Submit.
- The message “You have successfully paid your bills” will be shown along with your payment details.
- Your PayMaya will receive the load following BDO’s load-up schedule:
*Load-ups between 9:00AM-9:59 PM on regular working days will be credited to your PayMaya within 2 hours.
*Load-ups not made within the above schedule will be credited to your PayMaya within 24-48 hours.
*Must be the same mobile number that you used to register PayMaya
THE JUDGEMENT (dum dum dum…)!!!
Will I recommend using the card? DEFINITELY YES!

Hi! First time ko po nagpurchase ng in-app content sa isang ios game and I have PHP 451.98 sa Paymaya account ko currently. The thing is I /tried/ to purchase a $14.99 content and naging successful po ung purchase. Pero di ko talaga intention na bilhin yon (hahahaha). I was just testing if Paymaya would not allow me to continue purchase but it actually did. I got worried and read their Terms of Service / condition, wala naman naka-indicate na mababawasan sa next “top-up” ko yung liability. Please help!

Uhh. Hi. So kakatry ko lang kanina ng paymaya. And i purchased $19.99 worth sa appstore. Since nagpaload naman ako ng 1,000 pesos, kampante ako bumili. The problem is yung nabawas lang ay 45.55, so i tried purchasing again. Dalawang beses. Hahaha. Both $9.99. Tapos wala paring update sa nagastos ko. Bale, $39.97 na yung nagastos ko. Pano yun, eh i only have 1000 pesos on my Visa?

If it required PayPal, I think you need to use that method, pero if diretso sa card, then use PayMaya directly. You’ll have the card number, expiration date and authorization code naman. Na try ko na bumili sa app store, sa 7/11 ako nag load 100 pesos gusto ko lang ma try and successful naman but the thing is nung bumili ulit ako hindi na nabasawan balance ko same padin. Tapos bumili ulit ako mga 700+ 😂 51 padin balance ko kahit di naman ako nag load ulit. Kinakabahan lang ako ma charge sakin yun HAHA pero feeling ko ganun nga mangyayari. I’ve been using paymaya for months now. I always use bdo online bills payment to load my account. This was a good service but, now it is becoming a horror. Yesterday, 10/10/2016 I loaded php 500 to my account but, it is still not showing or it has not been posted. (Usually it takes 45 minutes for posting) I’ve been trying to call their customer service several times, waited more than an hour on their queue but, I did not get the chance to talk to anyone from paymaya.
I feel like I have been robbed. Please beware of using this service.

Hi..good evening. My husband bought 3 cards from pay maya. We are from carmona cavite. Wala daw single card na available kaya yung promo na 3 cards ang binili nya. 450 lahat. Then ng i aactivate nya following the instructions sa card na send to then active the card, ang reply sa kanya ng paymaya is “Sorry! This card is either invalid or already activated. Please enter another Card ID # or call our customer support at (632) 845 7788” yan ang exact na sinabi. Ng tinatawagan namin yang number naka 1 hr na wala pa ding sumasagot na customer rep. Ang tanong ko paano sya maactivate? At yung 3 cards bang yan pwedeng gamitin ng 3 different person? Please help us. Thank u and God bless.

About the upgrading, do you have any idea how fast they process requests made through Bayad Centers? There’s one near me, and I don’t really use FB anymore so I’d rather not do the FB video call option.

@mhay huwag kang umasa sa fb message kasi ayaw nila magreply, kahit sa akin. Himala kung magreply tapos paulit ulit ang sagot parang automated di akma sa sagot mo. Pumunta ka nalang sa pinakmalapit na bayad center at doon ka mag-apply. Yan yung ginawa ko at within 20 minutes na upgrade ko agad account ko. Punta ka sa site na ito para madownload mo yung bayad center na form: https://paymaya.com/downloads/BayadCenterForm.pdf need mo fill-upan yan at idala mo sa Bayad Center. Magdala ka rin ng 1 valid ID. yan lang. Hope nakatulong kasi ang paymaya fb nila ay di sumasagot.

Do not use this card to withdraw money from an ATM , l had the card less than a month and twice money was deducted from my paymaya account but the machine did not dispense money. First time the money was credited back within an hour. Second time, it has beem two weeks and still no credit. You call customer service and they give you a case number and that is it. Tbey provide nothing in writing that they are workng on your issue. If you have to file a formal complaint you will have no documentation from them to present. It will be your word against theirs. I have had problem using it at stores, but do not use it to withdraw cash from ATM. Also you would be unable to use this card at a retailer in the U.S. as the numbers are not raised and your name is not imprinted on the card.

For shipping fee, the website will calculate it and will give you further instructions, visit http://www.paymaya.com Sa Bayad Center, just approach the personnel or cashier and tell them that you will load your PayMaya account. Heeeey Nico! Yes meron. For non-upgraded account, 50K. For upgraded account, 100K. Now yung pagloload, it depends on the merchant and mode. Say for example, BDO ang gagamitin kong loading station, may limit sila na 10K per day na deposit, so it will take you 2 days para maload yung PayMaya account mo. 10K sa first day and 3K iload mo sa next day. 🙂 Thanks for reading my post!!!
